De Lima seeks Interpol help in locating Ramona

ABS CBN news November 6, 2011 released the following:

“MANILA, Philippines – Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has directed the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to check with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) if Ramona Bautista, one of the suspects in the killing of her brother Ramgen, could be placed on the red notice list.

On Saturday, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Bautista’s half-brother, urged the Department of Foreign Affairs and the local police to locate her.

The senator had expressed belief she was evading investigators. He urged Bautista’s mother, Genelyn Magsaysay, to ask her daughter to cooperate with the police.

Bautista was seen in an exclusive video of ABS-CBN News at the airport on Friday night waiting for a flight to Hong Kong.

The Bureau of Immigration said her final destination is Turkey. Her departure card shows she is a “resident” there.

“Yes. I’m having it double-checked if somebody under investigation but without yet an arrest warrant may be placed in such [Interpol] list,” de Lima told ABS-CBN News in a text message.”
