“NAPLES, Fla.- Naples Police responded to a noise complaint on Thursday that led to the arrest of a wanted Serbian murder suspect.

On Thursday, at approximately 4:02 a.m., Naples Police officers were dispatched to a loud music complaint at 450 Bayfront Place, #4808. The officers were directed by the complainant to the unit where they were able to hear yelling and loud music. They spoke to the owner of the unit and after issuing her a notice to appear and advising her to turn down the music the officer left the building.

Five minutes after the initial encounter, the officers were advised by dispatch that the original complainant called back to advise that the subjects had turned up the music right after the officers left. The officers returned to the unit at which time after knocking on the door, it was answered and slammed in their faces. The officers knocked again and the door was answered, where the officers observed seven people in the unit.

Officers advised Mozolicova to step outside, so officers could affect an arrest for disorderly conduct and City Ordinance Violation 22-37 Noise Violation. Mozolicova refused to step outside of the unit, at which point officers attempted to take physical custody of Mozolicova inside of the unit.

Other subjects present attempted to interfere with the officers attempts to take her into custody. Miric pulled away from officers, and physically began fighting and hitting officers. Mozolicova attempted to distract officers and tried to physically grab Miric to pull her back into the unit.

Officers were able to affect an arrest on Miric, and Officer Harp stood by with the subject outside of the unit in a hallway area. Others present were interfering with the lawful attempts of the officers trying to arrest the subjects.

At one point, Stepanovich charged towards an officer who was kneeling down actively engaging in handcuffing one of the subjects and kicked the officer in the face. Stepanovich attempted to charge the officer again at which time the officer was able to deploy his Taser and stop the aggressive actions.

After all subjects were taken into custody, a routine wants and warrants check revealed that subject Stepanovich had an active INTERPOL warrant / wanted persons hit out of Serbia for the crime of Murder. INTERPOL warrant # KI46708. INTERPOL later advised they were going to begin to confirm the warrant and extradite with the requesting country.”

“Interpol is to issue a Red Notice for the arrest of notorious Bulgarian gangsters Angel Hristov and Plamen Galev aka the “Galevi brothers”, according to a Bulgarian police official.

Interpol’s Red Notice for Hristov and Galev is to be issued “any time now”, Kalin Georgiev, Chief Secretary of Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry stated on Tuesday.

Georgiev told the Bulgarian National Television that he hoped the mobster pair’s fate would be similar to that of Hristoforos Amanatidis, aka Taki, an alleged drug overlord that was detained in Dubai at the end of last week.

Angel Hristov and Plamen Galev aka the “Galevi brothers” disappeared at the beginning of last week after the Bulgarian Supreme Court of Cassation finally confirmed their organized crime sentences last week, and the two were supposed to be sent to jail for 5 and 4 years respectively.

On May 9, Galev and Hristov were issued a nationwide search warrant amidst reports they fled abroad with a huge stash of money and strong criticism on the part of the European Commission.”

LYON, France – INTERPOL has issued an updated global alert in relation to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann from a holiday resort in Portugal on 3 May 2007, to include an age-progressed image showing how she may look today.

Detectives from London’s Metropolitan Police Service conducting an investigative review into the disappearance of the then three-year-old Madeleine McCann released the age-progressed image of the missing girl ahead of her ninth birthday on 12 May 2012.

An INTERPOL Yellow Notice for Madeleine McCann was circulated to INTERPOL’s member countries after she went missing from an apartment in Praia da Luz in the western Algarve.

The Notice was issued at the request of Portuguese authorities leading the investigation into Madeleine McCann’s disappearance. All of INTERPOL’s 190 member countries have received the update and the age-progressed image to assist in her identification.

INTERPOL Yellow Notices are circulated to help locate missing persons, especially minors, or to help identify persons who are not able to identify themselves.

Anyone who has any information regarding this case is asked to contact their local police or the authorities in Portugal.”

ISTANBUL — Turkey said Wednesday that it has no plans to send Iraq’s vice president, who is currently in Turkey, back to Iraq for prosecution even after Interpol placed him on its most-wanted list.

Iraq has charged Tariq al-Hashemi with terrorism, accusing him of guiding and financing death squads that targeted government officials, security forces and Shiite pilgrims. Al-Hashemi, a Sunni, says the charges are false and motivated by the political enmity of the Shiite-led leadership in Baghdad.

Turkey’s deputy prime minister, Bekir Bozdag, said al-Hashemi is in Turkey for medical treatment and that Turkey had no plans to extradite him.

“I am not sure whether there will be a new evaluation in the period ahead,” Bozdag said. “But as the government, our position in this is very clear. We would not extradite someone to whom we’ve given support.”

The minister also noted that Turkey had not had enough cooperation from Iraq in its efforts to detain supporters of the Kurdish rebel group PKK, which carries out attacks inside Turkey from bases in northern Iraq.

Interpol said on its website that it has issued a so-called “red notice” for al-Hashemi, responding to a request from Baghdad. A red notice by Interpol seeks the arrest of a wanted person with a view to eventual extradition. The subjects of red notices are considered to be on the organization’s most-wanted list.

Interpol Secretary General Ronald K. Noble said the red notice for al-Hashemi “will significantly restrict his ability to travel and cross international borders.””

TEL AVIV, Israel (AP) — Interpol said Tuesday it is making the war against cyber crime a main priority this year as online fraud crosses borders and increases in scope.

Khoo Boon Hui, president of the global police network, told a conference of 49 European member states that cyber crime is becoming more transnational. He pointed to a study published in March by the London Metropolitan University that found 80 percent of online crime is connected to cross-border organized gangs.

“Organized crime is now able to recruit members from countries without diplomatic ties to commit crimes overseas operating from temporary safe bases in third countries equipped with the latest technology,” he said.

Hui said Malaysian police last month arrested more than 200 cyber criminals from China and Taiwan who operated online scams through two syndicates under the instructions of a common Taiwanese boss.

By using temporary safe bases around the far East, the online scammers netted billions of dollars via soccer and gambling websites along with credit card and bank fraud schemes, he said. He said hackers even penetrated the Interpol website this year.

Hui said cyber crime costs Europe about 750 billion euros, or more than $977 billion, a year. Israel alone deals with more than 1,000 Web attacks a minute, he said.

To help train police worldwide in online law enforcement, Hui said Interpol will open a cyber crime and digital security complex in Singapore in 2014.

This week’s conference also addressed other issues including international terrorism, the drug trade, and human trafficking.”

With transnational issues including cybercrime, terrorism, organized crime, human trafficking, illegal immigration and trafficking in illicit goods high on the agenda of the three-day meeting (8 – 10 May), some 110 senior law enforcement officials from 49 countries and eight international organizations will discuss how to build on regional cooperation and expertise to boost global security.

BAGHDAD— Interpol has put Iraq’s fugitive Sunni vice president on its most-wanted list after issuing Tuesday a so-called “red notice” for Tariq al-Hashemi, who is currently in Turkey.

The Lyon, France-based organization said on its website the move came at the request of the government in Baghdad.

Iraq has charged al-Hashemi — one of the nation’s highest-ranking Sunni politicians — with terrorism, accusing him of guiding and financing death squads that targeted government officials, security forces and Shiite pilgrims.

Al-Hashemi is being tried in absentia in Baghdad. The Shiite-led government links him to about 150 bombings, assassinations and other attacks. It says the death squads were largely composed of the vice president’s bodyguards and other employees.

The trial was postponed last week as al-Hashemi’s lawyers appealed to have parliament create a special court to hear the case. The Sunni vice president has vowed not to return to face what he calls politically motivated charges.

A red notice by Interpol seeks the arrest or provisional arrest of a wanted person with a view to eventual extradition. The subjects of red notices are considered to be on the organization’s most-wanted list.

Interpol Secretary General Ronald K. Noble said the red notice for al-Hashemi “will significantly restrict his ability to travel and cross international borders.”

“It is a powerful tool that will help authorities around the world locate and arrest him,” Interpol’s website quoted Noble as saying.

Officials in Ankara could not immediately be reached for comment.

Many member countries consider a red notice to be a valid request for the arrest of a suspect, but Interpol cannot demand individual nations make an arrest. Turkey, which has provided sanctuary to al-Hashemi and is on tense terms with his opponents in the Iraqi government, has not responded so far to the Interpol notice.

Al-Hashemi is staying under the protection of Turkish security agents at a luxury apartment in Istanbul, Turkey’s NTV television said. A policeman with a machinegun guards the entrance of his apartment building, and several police cars were parked outside on Tuesday, according to NTV.

In an interview last week in Istanbul, al-Hashemi told The Associated Press that his trial was part of a political vendetta that has wider repercussions for Iraqi unity and sectarian tensions across the Middle East.

He also alleged that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, a Shiite, may have engineered the proceedings to snuff out domestic opposition in case he is threatened by a revolt in Iraq similar to that in neighboring Syria.

Al-Hashemi’s representatives maintain he left Iraq for diplomatic meetings with regional leaders, not to escape arrest.

Al-Maliki’s media adviser, Ali al-Moussawi, on Tuesday called on al-Hashemi to return to Iraq and face trial.

“After the issuing of this red notice, I think that the best choice for al-Hashemi now is to return to Iraq and stand a fair trial,” al-Moussawi told The AP over the phone.”

“May 3, a resident of Manerba (Italy), who was wanted by Interpol since October 2010 at the request of law enforcement agencies of Egypt, was detained in the Belarusian National airport “Minsk” at border control for the flight “Milan-Minsk.” The Italian, who is the CEO of a large trading company, is suspected of fraud.

Asccrding to the spokesman for the Interior Ministry of Internal Affairs in the transport of Belarus, Alexander Marchenko, the Italian citizen is known to have come to Belarus to establish a business relationship with one of the companies in the country. The detainee is now in a detention center. The question of his extradition to the initiator of the search is being considered, BelTA informs.

As Telegraf previously reported, in January, at the National airport “Minsk,” border guards and employees of transport militia detained a resident of Navapolatsk, who had arrived in Belarus from the Swedish capital – Stockholm. He had been wanted at home since September 2010 for evading to pay a large loan.”

Some 200 senior police officers from 50 countries will head to Tel Aviv on Tuesday, for the 41st European Regional Conference of Interpol.

It will be the first time that Israel will host such a major gathering for Interpol, the International Criminal Police Organisation. According to an Interpol spokesman the location is “overwhelmingly endorsed” by members.

A conference source said that Tel Aviv was chosen because of the exceptional contribution of Israeli police in fighting cross-border crime, especially by providing technology and training to other police forces around the world.

“The selection of Israel as the conference host is a great honour for the Israel police and the state of Israel,” said Yohanan Danino, chief of the Israeli police forces.

The three days of presentations and discussions will focus on dealing with terrorism threats, technological crime, economic crime, extradition cases, migrant workers, demonstrations, crime organisations, and drugs.

Interpol’s president Khoo Boon Hui, and its secretary-general Ronald Noble, will headline the conference.”

“(CNN) — A former Venezuelan judge — a fugitive in his home country who was last known to be in the United States — stands to become a source of contention between the two nations.

Interpol issued a Red Notice for Eladio Aponte Aponte, Venezuelan Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami said Wednesday night. The notice is an international alert that asks any country with information about his whereabouts to arrest him with a view to his extradition.

But Aponte Aponte counts on support from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, for whom he purportedly works as a source. The former Supreme Court justice fled to Costa Rica, and last month was transported from there to the United States in a DEA aircraft, officials of the Central American country said.

Venezuelan officials removed Aponte Aponte from his post in March, accusing him of providing a government credential to a man authorities allege was one of the world’s top drug lords.

Aponte Aponte, who has not confirmed or denied that accusation, left Venezuela the day he was supposed to face questioning in the Venezuelan National Assembly.

The U.S. Justice Department did not immediately comment on whether it would honor the Interpol notice.

In April, Aponte Aponte sat down for an interview with SOiTV in Miami in which he claimed he made rulings in cases based on requests from Chavez and other top officials.

“They just asked for favors that I complied with. And woe be the judge that refused to cooperate. … They were dismissed,” Aponte Aponte said.

Several of his remarks contradicted previous statements by top Venezuelan officials — including Chavez.

Asked whether there are political prisoners in Venezuela — something Chavez has previously denied — Aponte Aponte said yes.

CNN has not independently confirmed the former justice’s accusations.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro last month accused the United States of trying to destabilize his country’s government.

“It is easy to understand how a fugitive from justice processed for his connections with drug trafficking mafias and removed from his job has sold his soul to the DEA,” Maduro said. “The DEA has appeared again as a political actor in Venezuela against Venezuela.”

While the Venezuelan justice minister provided a copy of the Interpol notice on the Internet, it did not appear on Interpol’s website.

Interpol said that countries have the option of not publicizing the Red Notice on its website.”
